Using CardScope

Simple terms for a practical tool.

CardScope helps collectors compare market evidence. It does not certify a card, guarantee a sale price, or replace checking the exact card and transaction for yourself.

The most important rule: asking prices, confirmed sold comparisons, raw cards, graded cards, languages, finishes, and grading companies must be read as separate evidence. Check the card identity and listing details before relying on a result.

What CardScope provides

CardScope is an independent Australian collector tool for card identification, catalogue browsing, current asking-price comparisons, confirmed sold-market evidence when available, user-controlled buying/trading targets, private comp lists, and optional collection/profile features. The service is currently provided free, with optional support links when enabled.

Market evidence is not a guarantee

Values are estimates and comparisons, not professional appraisals or financial advice.
Listings can be delayed, incomplete, mislabelled, cancelled, bundled, or incorrectly matched.
Shipping, platform fees, taxes, card condition, authenticity, demand, and local negotiation can change a real transaction.
A user-selected target percentage is a calculation aid, not a guaranteed offer or recommended price.
Grading companies and grades are not interchangeable. Select the exact company and grade.
CardScope can show no result instead of inventing a price when credible evidence is unavailable.

You are responsible for checking the exact card, printing, language, finish, grade, condition, listing, seller, buyer, and payment terms before buying, selling, grading, or trading.

Accounts and public content

Keep your login secure and use accurate account information. Do not share passwords. You are responsible for changes made through your account until you report unauthorised access.

Profiles and collections are private by default. If you publish a profile, collection, bio, handle, avatar, or spotlight card, anyone with the link may view or copy that public content. Do not publish personal, confidential, unlawful, misleading, infringing, abusive, or seller/customer information.

Fair use and service protection

You must not:

attack, probe, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, bypass limits, or interfere with CardScope;
use automated requests outside a separately approved integration;
try to access another user's account, collection, notes, lists, or non-public profile data;
upload malware or content you do not have the right to use; or
use CardScope to misrepresent a card, grade, sale, market value, or affiliation.

Access may be limited or removed where reasonably necessary to protect users, providers, CardScope, or legal rights. Security reports should follow the private process described in CardScope's repository security policy rather than being published with exploit or user details.

Third-party services and links

CardScope depends on third-party authentication, hosting, database, catalogue, artwork, marketplace, sold-data, analytics, monitoring, payment, and backup services. Their content, availability, pricing, privacy practices, and terms are outside CardScope's control. An outbound listing or support link does not make CardScope the buyer, seller, marketplace, grader, payment processor, or guarantor of that transaction.

CardScope may later use clearly disclosed affiliate links. Affiliate status must not change result ranking or turn an asking price into sold evidence.

Availability, changes, and liability

CardScope may change, pause, remove, or limit features to respond to provider changes, security, cost, legal requirements, or product learning. Reasonable care is taken, but the service is provided on an "as available" basis and uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be promised.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CardScope is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from a pricing decision, missed listing, trade, grading decision, third-party service, or unavailable feature. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian consumer law.

Brand and content

CardScope's own interface, writing, logo, and original materials remain protected. Card names, artwork, catalogue data, marketplace content, and third-party brands remain the property of their respective owners. CardScope is not affiliated with Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Bandai, Shueisha, Toei Animation, eBay, or grading companies unless expressly stated.

Contact and governing law

For an account, privacy, or terms question, return to the CardScope home page, choose Give feedback, select the relevant category, and supply your own reply email if you want a response. Do not send passwords, payment details, or another person's data.

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and applicable Commonwealth laws. They may be updated as CardScope changes. Continued use after an effective date means the updated terms apply, subject to rights that cannot be waived.
